Good scouting is best learned by working, serving and sharing with others in a Den and Pack – but you don't have to depend on a meeting or a group to achieve! You can do a lot with just Cub Scout's handbook and an Akela – a parent, teacher or Cub leader guide – to work on any rank requirements and electives from home!
Whether parent/child activity/work schedules don't mesh with Den Meetings you can still assist you child with continuing their advancement in Scouting by checking their scout's handbook for activities and electives that they can do at home
Parents, it doesn't have to be perfect, just Do You Best! ... work with your scouts on what you can, ask for help from Pack parents and leaders anytime you need!

Lone Scouting Program
If you have a youth that is not conveniently able to join a Cub Scout Pack or Scout BSA Troop the Lone Scout Program is another option. The Lone Scout plan is a way for any youth ages 7 to 10 (or who is in the first through fifth grades) to become a Lone Cub Scout; or ages 11 to 17 to become a Lone Scouts BSA member.
If you are interested in this program, please contact your local BSA council.
Please see the BSA Commissioners Lone Scout Program for additional information.
